T.I. apologises to daughters after hymen comments ‘while he still can’ following Kobe Bryant’s death

T.I. has apologised to his daughters, in the wake of Kobe Bryant’s death

Amid the tragic death of Kobe Bryant, rapper T.I. has apologised to his daughters, Zonnique Pullins and Deyjah Harris, following previous comments about Deyjah’s hymen, ‘while he still can’.

Last year the 39-year-old, real name Clifford Harris Jr, sparked outrage when he said that he took his 18-year-old daughter Deyjah to the gynaecologist every year to check whether her hymen was still intact. It was his way of making sure she hadn’t had sex.

While he appeared on a Red Table Talk interview with Jada Pinkett Smith, and said his words were ‘misconstrued’, he’s now apologised to his girls.

Feeling the weight of mortality, perhaps following the death of LA Lakers legend Kobe on Sunday, T.I. has issued an emotional message.

It comes after Kobe was killed alongside his daughter Gianna, 13, and seven others, when the helicopter they were travelling on crashed in California.

‘I love you girls more than my vocabulary will allow me to express. You have grown so much right before my very eyes & blossomed into strong, brilliantly opinionated, independent young women,’ T.I wrote this week in the caption, alongside images of him with his children. ‘I’m so proud of you both and I love you to no end, more than you’ll ever know.’

He continued: ‘Please forgive me for any and all imperfections that cause misunderstandings between us…. Charge my mind, not my heart. You see Life may throw us curveballs & deal us some pretty bad hands at times.

‘But rest assured, you’ll NEVER find yourself in a place too high or low for me to be there to catch you when you fall.’

T.I. concluded: ‘I just Can’t let another second go by without letting you know while we’re still here in this life together…

‘You have ALL MY LOVE FOR ALL MY LIFE…&AFTER‼️’

In November T.I. landed in hot water speaking on the Ladies Like Us podcast, after he claimed he took his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah, to the gynaecologist every year to check whether her hymen was still intact

He said: ‘So it’s this one time we go, I think this might have been after her 16th birthday. This is what we do. Right after the birthday we celebrate.

‘Usually like the day after the party she’s enjoying her gifts. I put a sticky note on the door: “Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30.”

‘So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and the doctor’s maintaining a high level of professionalism.’

He continued: ‘And so then they come and say, “Well I just want you to know that there are other ways besides sex that the hymen can be broken, like bike riding, athletics, horseback riding and just other forms of athletic physical activity.”

‘I say, “Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously”.

‘I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact.’
