Susanna Reid: Piers Morgan responds as 'ignorant' GMB co-host branded 'unwatchable'


Susanna Reid, 48, found herself in the position usually occupied by Piers Morgan, 54, this morning when she came under fire from a viewer on Twitter. An angry fan accused her of being “unwatchable” when they took to the social media site to level some criticism often aimed at Piers her way. “Can you stop being ignorant by interrupting Piers constantly you are becoming unwatchable,” they tweeted. Naturally, the negative feedback for Susanna soon caught the attention of her Good Morning Britain co-host Piers, who retweeted the post in view of his 6.8 million followers.

Responding to the tweet, he simply added the eyes emoji.

Susanna also reacted to the viewer’s criticism, sharing a sarcastic comeback with her own 603,000 Twitter followers.

“If only the middle of my sentences would stop clashing with the start of his,” she said drily.

However, the irritated GMB fan didn’t leave it there, hitting back: “Not at all you do this even more since Piers joined the team.

“You act like a jealous person who needs to be heard in order to justify your role at GMB and huge salary.

“I preferred it when you were on holiday,” they added.

Many viewers rushed to Susanna’s defence, however, with one saying: “She’s trying to do her job.”

“She wouldn’t be able to speak otherwise,” another chimed in. “The man is awful just liking the sound of his own voice.”

“But Susanna interrupting Piers is the best bit,” a third quipped.

Others noted the interruptions, one tweeting: “@GMB is one fire this morning seriously!

“@susannared100 interrupting @piersmorgan. Piers Morgan getting the hump. Morning TV at its finest!”

Things heated up in the GMB studio during a debate about Brexit this morning.

Yesterday marked Susanna and Piers’ first day back at in the ITV studio after their summer holiday.

Susanna Reid revealed she “nearly broke” her nose during her time off as she returned to social media at the weekend.

Uploading a selfie on Twitter, she could be seen sporting a swollen lip, explaining: “Responding to (non-existent) demand for holiday snaps, here’s one of me having walked into a pane of glass thinking it was an open door and looking, as a result, like I’d had lip filler.

“(Swelling unfortunately gone down now,)” she added. “Also almost broke my nose. Happy days.”
