Susanna Reid: 'Exhausted' GMB host quits role away from show 'I want to do a better job'

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid, 49, has announced she will no longer be writing her personal column, to free a gap in her schedule to spend more time with her family. The presenter has three sons; Finn, Sam and Jack, with her ex-partner Dominic Cotton.

Susanna admitted she had become “exhausted” after saying “yes” to everything and taking on a variety of opportunities.

The mother-of-three said she had read a book by Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes titled Year Of Yes, which encourages women to break out of their shells and say yes more often.

But, after struggling to juggle her work commitments as well as being a mother, the host admitted it was time to take a step back.

She explained: “There comes a time when instead of juggling endless balls in the air, fearful that one will fall, we gently and carefully put one down.

“While I haven’t felt myself on the edge like Andrea, I have had times when I have looked at myself in the mirror, dark circles under my eyes, a to-do list coming out of my ears, and said, ‘Susanna, you need to slow down’.”

Susanna’s main job is fronting Good Morning Britain four days a week with her sidekick Piers Morgan.

She has been a part of the show’s main presenting team since 2014, following her departure from BBC Breakfast.

The pair are often seen humorously clashing with each other on air, but the presenter previously admitted: “The chemistry somehow works.”
