Susan Calman denies being on The Masked Singer as fans convinced she's Dragon

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Susan Calman has denied theories she’s performing as Dragon on The Masked Singer.

The comedian thanked fans for putting her at the centre of the “most flattering rumour that’s ever been spread” but said she’s definitely not the mystery celebrity appearing on the ITV singing contest.

The Edinburgh-born actress and presenter may be multi-talented, but she is adamant viewers are barking up the wrong tree with the claims.

Susan Calman is flattered by the rumours

Speaking with Lorraine Kelly on her breakfast show this morning, Susan said: “Okay this is the most flattering rumour I think that’s ever been spread.

“So I didn’t know about this until a couple of days ago. Now last series of the masked singer, I love it, I  think it’s amazing, I  would sit at home with my wife going ooh I wonder if it’s that person, I wonder if it’s that person.

“And I’m not (Dragon), but my goodness thank you for thinking I was.”

Viewers are convinced she’s Dragon

The popular show, adapted from a South Korean TV format, returned over Christmas for its second season and is already causing a storm every Saturday as viewers rack their brains to guess the famous faces behind the elaborate costumes.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor was revealed as the Alien on episode one on Boxing Day, while last week Spice Girl Mel B became the second star to be booted out when her identity as Seahorse was revealed.

Excited fans have flooded Twitter with the theory that Calman is Dragon, while others are convinced it’s fellow comic and presenter Sue Perkins.

The 45-year-old took part in ITV’s singing competition in the Seahorse costume, but was booted out by the judges in the second episode last weekend.

Catch the third episode of The Masked Singer on ITV tomorrow, January 9, at 7pm.
