Susan Boyle: ‘Very thrilled’ BGT finalist announces incredible news for ‘worthwhile cause’

Susan Boyle, 58, took to her Twitter account this week to inform her fans she will be performing a Christmas concert at the Vatican in December. The Scottish singer said she was “very thrilled” to be performing at the special location and added she “hopes” to see many of her fans there. In the clip shared with her 34,000 followers, the Britain’s Got Talent finalist mused: “Hi there. It’s Susan Boyle here and I’m very thrilled to be able to tell you that I’ll be performing at the Vatican Christmas concert in December. It’s for a very worthwhile cause. Hope to see you there.” The post was captioned: “Susan will be performing at the Vatican Christmas concert in December. Be sure to get your tickets.”

The Vatican Christmas concert is an event held annually in Rome, Italy, with the proceeds raised going to a charitable cause.

Last year, two projects dedicated to helping refugees in Uganda and Iraq benefitted from the concert.

Fans rushed to comment on the big news, as one person said: “This sounds wonderful! Wish I could go! I hope you will film your entire performance to share with us.”

Another person said: “Fantastic! So happy for you! Good luck.”

While a third person added: “Love you Susan. Best of luck to you!”

Susan has become a household name after her success on the ITV show Britain’s Got Talent, where she made it to the final in 2009, but was beat to the top spot by dance troupe, Diversity.

“I am going to Miami in November to perform at the Alfalit Gala and I don’t charge a fee,” Susan explained.

“I want them to raise money for their cause because it’s education and literacy-based, which is very important.”

The star added: “I think every child and adult should be able to read and write and have access to learning, and that is what Alfalit does.”

The Gala is raising money to improve literacy around the world and educate people.

Susan recently shared a video to her Instagram, reminding her fans she is going to be performing in the charity gig.
