Supergirl star Melissa Benoist has given birth to her first child with husband Chris Wood, a boy named Huxley.
The actress, 31, and her partner – who co-stared with her in The CW series – welcomed their bundle a joy ‘a few weeks ago’, as she confirmed the news on Instagram.
Sharing a snap of the newborn’s hand, she wrote: ‘Huxley Robert Wood got here a few weeks ago and this little boy is everything.’
Husband Chris later reposted the same picture to his own page, and said: ‘Our son was born his name is Huxley he’s amazing.’
He jokingly added: ‘And no it’s probably none of your business xoxo, brb see you in 18 years. [sic]’
Melissa and Chris, 32, had previously confirmed they were expecting back in March with a series of photos which were shared on both of their Instagram accounts.
One snap featured the couple’s dogs while Melissa held up a tiny blue shirt, and another saw her rest her cheek on Chris’ shoulder while he stuck his belly out to resemble his wife’s baby bump.
‘A non-canine child is coming to our family very soon!!!’ Melissa stated. ‘@christophrwood has always been an old dad by nature but now he’s going to be a real one!’
Chris revealed the gender of the baby later that month, sharing a photo of a pair of father-son trainers.
‘My little boy is gonna rock 990s just like his dad and that makes the world feel a little less sad today,’ he captioned the post.
Melissa and Chris met on the set of Supergirl in 2016, with the two starring together as on-screen partners in the superhero series.
They later got engaged in February 2019, and tied the knot in September that year during an intimate ceremony in Ojai, California, according to reports.
Prior to Chris, Melissa had married her former Glee co-star Black Jenner in 2015, but later filed for divorce from the actor the following year. Their divorce was finalised in 2017.
