Super Vet Noel Fitzpatrick revealed his dog Keira will ‘hopefully’ be okay after a road accident.

The TV presenter told fans earlier this month that his sweet pet had been struck by a van.

Noel thanked fans for sending ‘magnificent’ messages of support in his time of need.

‘It’s extraordinary the amount of love that you sent to Keira,’ he said while appearing on The One Show. ‘Keira’s the reason why hospitals like this are built. Keira’s the reason I do what I do.

‘She’s okay,’ he told guest host Rylan Clark-Neal. ‘She’s a bit up and down as she had a very bad road traffic accident and many hours of surgery and blood transfusions.

‘For the last seven days and nights, she slept by my bed for the first time in a month. I’m deeply grateful for her being with me and hopefully, she’ll be okay.’

Noel is known for performing some veterinary miracles on his show, with Dec Donnelly thanking the star earlier this year for saving his pup Rocky.

Super Vet Noel told fans about his dog being in ‘critical condition’ a few weeks ago.

The vet and TV star revealed the heartbreaking news to fans on Twitter, sharing a sweet photo of the pup.

‘3 weeks ago my little girl, Keira, was hit by a van,’ Noel, 52, wrote.

‘She has been in a critical state and the fear of losing her has been overwhelming.

‘Her outlook remains unknown. We hope & keep the faith that she will be OK. I’ll bring an update when the time is right. Thank you for caring x’.

Just last week, Noel updated fans on Keira’s condition and said that she’s ‘not out of the woods yet’, but is on the road to recovery.

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
