Super League: Wakefield Trinity v Catalans Dragons could be rearranged for Monday evening

Sunday’s game at Wakefield was postponed about four hours before the scheduled kick-off time

Wakefield have said they will try to rearrange their Super League meeting with Catalans Dragons for Monday after postponing Sunday’s fixture.

The match was one of two Super League fixtures on Sunday to be called off because of Storm Ciara.

Huddersfield’s meeting with Leeds was also postponed because of safety concerns.

But with Catalans having travelled over from southern France, Wakefield were considering a quick rearrangement.

Trinity chief executive Michael Carter posted on Twitter: “Just to bring everybody up to date, because Catalans are in the country and to avoid fixture congestion, we are looking at tomorrow (Monday) evening (to play the game) but at this stage it is still extremely doubtful.”

New Catalans signing Israel Folau has not made the trip, the Australia international having not played a rugby match of either code for 10 months.
