Sunday Brunch: ‘Wow’ Simon Rimmer shocked as Bob Mortimer almost drops F-bomb

Bob was part of the Channel 4 show’s line-up today alongside members of dance group Diversity, Emily Head, Susie Blake, Tez Ilyas and Mahalia.

The comedian was on hand to prepare his own pasta dish on Sunday Brunch which he called “Uncle Duncan’s Bankside Special”.

The dish was comprised of tagliatelle, smoked salmon, Oatly fraiche peas and rocket from Bob’s own recipe.

He placed some of the ingredients in a bowl over boiling water as he continued to chat to the hosts.

But as Bob was mid-way through telling Tim and Simon about his charity shops finds, the water started to bubble over as the flames rose from the hob.

Bob recoiled from the hob and appeared to almost say “f**k” as he did so.

Those in the studio were subsequently left in hysterics at Bob’s reaction, as Simon laughed and said: “Wow.”

Viewers watching at home also took to Twitter to comment on the hilarious moment.

“#SundayBrunch F-Bomb,” one noted as another added: “#sundaybrunch Bob did a swear.”

A third shared: “‘I don’t like long food’ followed by a near F-bomb #SundayBrunch.”

Bob was on the programme to discuss the next season of his Gone Fishing series, where he stars alongside Paul Whitehouse.

Viewers were completely taken by the comedian’s appearance and many expressed just how delighted they were to see him on screen.

“I’m not sure if there is anyone funnier than bob mortimer #SUNDAYBRUNCH,” one said.

A second asked: “Can Bob Mortimer just be on @SundayBrunchC4 every week please? ‘Heart Healthy Cooking with Bob’ needs to be a regular feature! #sundaybrunch #toofunny #saynotolongfood.”

Sunday Brunch airs Sundays at 9.30am on Channel 4.
