Sulli autopsy results: Police confirm no suspicion of homicide

The preliminary results of Sulli’s autopsy have been released.

The South Korean pop star and actress was found dead at her home south of Seoul, on Monday, October 14.

Kim Seong-tae, of Seongnam Sujeong Police Department, said the 25-year-old was found after her manager went to her home in Seongnam because she had not answered phone calls for hours.

He added that there were no signs of foul play. 

An autopsy was held for the star, real name Choi Jin-ri, between 9am and11am on Wednesday, October 16.

A spokesman from Seongnam Sujeong Police said: “No suspicions of homicide, such as external forces or pressure, were discovered as a result of the preliminary autopsy.”

Drug and toxicology results have yet to be disclosed

Police previously said that they were working on the assumption that Sulli took her own life and CCTV showed no sign of an intrusion. 

SM Entertainment, Sulli’s agency, said her death was “very hard to believe and sorrowful”.

The entertainer began her singing career in 2009 as a member of the girl band f(x) and also acted in numerous television dramas and movies.

She was known for her feminist voice and outspokenness that was rare among female entertainers in deeply conservative South Korea.

She recently appeared in a TV show and spoke out against the online backlash she received over her lifestyle.

She also revealed that she struggled with anxiety when talking about mental health in her 2018 reality show Jinri Store.

A fan memorial was held yesterday and continues today at Shinchon Severance Hospital. 

Sulli’s family are said to be keeping her funeral private.
