Their attention-generating outfits have been breaking the internet since the 90s. (Well, sort of – ‘breaking the internet’ wasn’t really a thing back then!)

And at last night’s GQ Men of the Year Awards in London, all eyes were once again on what David and Victoria Beckham were wearing. And specifically, the continuation of a decades-spanning Posh and Becks theme: a minimal, monochrome colour palette.

Here, we revisit some of VB and DB’s most memorable black and white (and grey and cream) looks: via trilbies and bandannas, all the way back to when David was blonde and Victoria’s gelled, spiky hairstyle predated Gareth Gates’ some years later…

This year's theme is 'Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy', exploring the symbolic and metaphorical associations between fictional characters and fashion in an exhibition at the Museum from May 7 through September 1 2008. The exhibition features approximately 60 ensembles including movie costumes, avant-garde haute couture, and high-performance sportswear to reveal how the superhero serves as the ultimate metaphor for fashion and its ability to empower and transform the human body.
