Strictly's Michelle Visage misses launch as she's accused of having huge advantage

Strictly Come Dancing’s Michelle Visage skipped the BBC show’s launch as she has been accused of having a massive advantage on the dancefloor.

The Ru Paul’s Drag Race star, 50, was said to be unable to attend the event with her fellow Strictly hopefuls because she had clashing filming commitments.

American Michelle was worlds away as she was back in America and she was unable to jet to the UK in time for the star-studded launch.

A source told The Sun Online : “Michelle really wanted to make it to the launch, but sadly a clash of filming commitments meant she is still back in America and couldn’t get back to the UK in time. She’ll be missed.”

The Mirror have approached Michelle Visage for further comment.

Her absence from the dazzling event was noticed as she was the only celebrity taking part this year to miss out on the big Strictly occasion.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman also joined the judges Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli, Shirley Ballas and new member Motsi Mabuse.

Former Strictly judge Darcey Bussell confirmed she had bowed out of judging the show in April earlier this year.

She said: “It has been a complete privilege for me to be part of Strictly, working with such a talented team. I have enjoyed every minute of my time and will miss everyone from my fellow judges, the presenters, the dancers, the musicians, the entire back stage team, and especially the viewers of the show, who have been so supportive.”

Every year the Strictly Come Dancing show has been marred with controversy when certain stars have more dance experience than others.

Michelle laughed off claims she had historic dance training which would give her an incredible advantage over the other stars competing for the Glitter Ball trophy.

The television sensation reeled off a catalogue of her dance experience from ballet to jazz dancing, choreography to girl group routines.

However, the TV host insisted she didn’t have an unfair advantage because she had never trained as a ballroom dancer before her Strictly journey.

She told The Post : “When I was seven I did the obligatory ballet and jazz dancing and I did that for quite some years.

“And then that’s where it ended. Then I did choreography and a girl group but I’ve never done a ballroom thing in my life.”
