Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood horrified as he's shown 'disgusting' secret show ritual

Craig Revel Horwood has flown down under to judge the Australian version of Dancing With The Stars and it looks as though he is regretting his decision.

Ahead of the series, which airs on Channel 7, grand finale this weekend DWST host Sonia Kruger explained what a “Shoey” is.

Seemingly a wild Aussie tradition, Sonia said: “Craig, a shoey is when somebody drinks champagne out of a shoe,” but before the host could finish her sentence Craig butted in, exclaiming: “It sounds absolutely disgusting!”

The crowd erupted into a roar of laughter as Sonia agreed: “Yes, it is quite disgusting.”

Sonia then dramatically put Craig on the spot as she asked the audience: “Would anyone like to see Craig do a shoey?”

Much to Craig’s dismay, the crowd screamed “yes” prompting Sonia to ask pro-dancer Craig Monley, who had just danced the cha-cha with his partner Nova Peris, for his shoe.

“I’ve got a shoe to start with,” Sonia announced. “Oh, and look, I just happen to have some champagne, what a shock!” she added as a crew member conveniently brought a bottle of champagne out from the sidelines.

Testing out his make-shift shot-glass, the Strictly Come Dancing judge sniffed dancer Craig’s shoe before letting out a massive belch.

Sonia then instructed Craig to hold the shoe as she filled it up with the champagne.

While Craig was hesitant at first he took the challenge head-on and sipped the champagne directly from the pro-dancers show as the audience cheered him on.

After taking a big gulp the 59-year-old offered his co-judge Helen Richey a sip. Naturally, Helen firmly declined as Craig yelled out: “That is so gross!”

Dancing With The Stars airs on Channel7 or 7plus in Australia.
