CRAIG Revel-Horwood has bagged himself a pay rise, signing a £200,000 deal to stay on as a Strictly Come Dancing judge for another year.
The 54-year-old star appears alongside Bruno Tonioli, Shirley Ballas and Mosti Mabuse on the panel – but despite the increase he’s not even the highest-earner of the four.
Insiders told the Mirror that the ballroom and Latin American dancer has gained an extra £20,000 for signing his shiny brand new 12-month contract – going from a whopping £180,000 to £200,000.
However, Shirley Ballas, 59 and fellow original judge Bruno Tonioli, 64 are the highest earning judges at £250,000.
Having been on the show from 2004, Craig has made a name for himself about his comments to the contestants.
Speaking to the Mirror Online about the new series, he said that he’s excited that he can continue to speak his own mind on the show.
He said: “I have just signed for another year and I am looking forward to it. I have no intention of leaving.
“As I have said, the only reason I would only leave if I was told I could not speak my mind. I haven’t been told that, so I am staying.”
As well as working hard on the show as a judge, Craig has also been in the studio and is about to release a duets album which will be out next year.
He added: “I have an album coming out soon. A duets album. It is coming out next year. It is with a lady called Rietta Austin.
“I am going to be singing three new songs written by Rietta and myself and some cover versions.
“I am doing it as we have always wanted to do it. I like to think I can sing. I would say leave that to the audience to decide.”
Fellow judge Bruno recently revealed that he is also releasing an album – but Craig was adamant on the fact that there will not be any chart battle between them.
His passion for singing and background in performing in pantomimes is the reason behind making it.
“I am not doing it because Bruno might have something coming out. Don’t worry, there will be no chart battle.
“I have been in the business quite a long time now and I just love singing, and I have decided to do an album.
“I have sang before, in the panto. The album has been recorded,” he told The Mirror.
