Though she’s been linked to Strictly Come Dancing for the past few weeks, the Brit actress cut her teeth on the Corrie cobbles.
Catherine Tyldesley said she’d “never say never” to a Coronation Street return while chatting with Lorraine Kelly this morning.
The 35-year-old left the soap last year after seven years on the show, playing Eva Price.
Since leaving, she’s put her name to a number of projects, including comedy Scarborough with Jason Manford and drama Lilies.
Looking back at her time on the soap, host Lorraine asked Catherine what she missed most about the show.
She said: “I think it’s the people. The cast and the crew – as you know they’re a big family.”
Lorraine then played the iconic scene from Eva’s wedding day, as she plunged Maria Connor into a water fountain after realising she’d been sleeping with her hubby-to-be Aidan.
Watching the scene, Catherine burst out laughing, saying: “That was my favourite scene ever to film.”
The Salford-born babe admitted she “stays in touch” with her cast mates and claimed to be “like a distant cousin that might visit”.
Then, Lorraine asked, given the right storyline, could a Corrie return be on the cards?
Getting fans’ hopes up, she said: “Never say never.”
Before adding: “I love the show.”
For those hoping to see her onscreen sooner, the soap star has been partnered up with Johannes Radebe on this year’s Strictly.
Lorraine continues on weekdays at 8.30am on ITV.
