Alex mused: ‘This one came round to visit me. I was working and then he came round to make sure I was eating and watch the result show.’

She added: ‘He is really cute. Look at him. He just got all excited to tell that story. We are having a lot of fun. Every day I’m smiling – it’s cool.’

Neil, who announced he had split from his wife of six years and fellow Strictly pro Katya Jones in August, admitted he and Alex had grown so close that they were now finishing each other’s sentences.

Neil and Alex will return to screens on Saturday’s show, performing a rumba to How Far I’ll Go by Auli’I Cravalho from Moana.

In her Instagram video, Alex revealed she’d have to try doubly hard to convince judges for Movie Week.
