Following his impressive launch night performance, Kelvin is already being tipped to win the glitterball trophy after showing off his talents.

He’s had just two weeks to prepare after being brought in to fill Jamie’s space who pulled out over a foot injury.

The Made in Chelsea star landed awkwardly during the group dance on a pre-recorded opening show and was forced to bow out.

Returning to support his would-be co-stars, Jamie was front row for last night’s Strictly launch.

But he looked upset when the camera panned over to him during Kelvin’s performance.

One fan said: “Jamie Laing’s face… think he’s a bit jealous #Strictly.”

Another added: “Jamie’s not happy #Strictly.”

Someone else said: “Jamie dying inside in the audience <3 #strictly.”

Despite doing his best to put on a brave face, the reality TV star’s face looked pained.

But showing his supportive side, Jamie gave Kelvin a standing ovation with the crowd at the end of the dance.

Strictly chiefs attempted to soften the blow of Jamie’s cruel exit by offering the star – who had been paired up with Oti Mabuse – a place on Strictly next year.

A show insider revealed : “After such a harrowing end to his Strictly debut this must have been the perfect tonic for Jamie…knowing he will be back in the ballroom next year.

“It was a lovely touch by the powers that be who realised just how devastated he was.”

Bosses replaced Jamie with Emmerdale hunk Kelvin Fletcher, 35.

Kelvin –who played Andy Sugden in Emmerdale from 1996 to 2016 – said it was “surreal” when he was asked to step in.

He set viewers’ pulses racing last night, with judge Bruno Tonioli calling it the best opening Samba he’d seen in 15 years of being a telly judge.

Kelvin also and Oti topped the leaderboard by scoring a whopping 32 points in week one.
