Strictly 's Craig Revel Horwood urges bosses to sign up Love Island stars

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horward is urging bosses of the dancing show to sign up stars of Love Island.

The BBC show has previously stated that it would not recruit any of our favourite reality stars with only a select few being picked to fight for the glitter ball.

Blonde biscuit heir Jame Laing, famed for starring in Made in Chelsea, was the most recent reality star chosen to show off his moves in the ballroom but his Strictly stardom was cut short due to a foot injury.

Judge Craig, who has appeared in every series of the Beeb show, thinks it’s about time that BBC took on board newer famous faces insisting that stars of the ITV dating show deserve a chance on the dance floor.

UNIMPRESSED: Craig only gave Aston a 4

Choreographer Craig, 54, told The Sun Online: “I don’t know if Love Island stars will be on Strictly in the future, but I hope so.

“I think now that is the craze, YouTube and reality TV stars are coming to the forefront, I think you have to be prepared of that.

“You have to keep it classy, you want to keep it social, and it is important to be inclusive – that’s my kind of thing.”

The West End star’s revelation follows the success of YouTubers on the show.

Could Anna Vaskili be heading to the ballroom?

Vlogger Joe Sugg made a huge impact on the show last year and blonde beauty Saffron Baker has signed up to take part in this year’s series.

Craig added: “I am glad that the BBC are doing that with people on YouTube because it is inclusive.

“These people have million and millions of followers and it is brilliant thing to invite them into the Strictly bubble.”

Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins showed off their skills in the Love Island villa this year.

The Irish beauty begged Curtis to teach her to dance and her Strictly dream may become a reality if Craig has anything to do with it.

Former Corrie babe Catherine Tyldesley, EastEnders star Emma Barton, comedian Chris Ramsey and professional footballer David James are just a few names taking to the dancefloor for the first time on Saturday night .

Strictly continues on BBC One this Saturday at 7pm.
