Strictly judge Shirley Ballas reveals kidneys are cancer free after 'weeks of anxiety'


Strictly Come Dancing ‘s head judge Shirley Ballas has reassured fans by updating them that she is cancer free after having an anxiety inducing few weeks.

Fans were concerned for her health after they noticed a lump under her arm in September, leading Shirley to go to the doctors.

Since then, Shirley has gone for further tests as doctors were concerned about her unusually high hormone levels.

But on Friday, Shirley gave her followers the good news that the shadow on her kidney had been given the “all clear” and she felt like she “can now breathe” after “several weeks” of anxiety.

The star’s fans were concerned in September after they spotted a lump under her arm – prompting Shirley to get it examined by doctors.

After having tests, doctors were concerned about her high hormone levels and sent her for further ones.

But on Friday, Shirley gave her followers the good news that the shadow on her kidney had been given the “all clear” and she felt like she “can now breathe” after “several weeks” of anxiety.

“I got two sets of results back to day and the shadow on my kidney seems absolutely fine and some other polyps are absolutely fine. No cancer there so that’s good.”

The Strictly judge also revealed she is set to have her breasts examined by doctors.

She said: “Now I need to have my boobies checked one more time when I have a minute.

“My hormones are still all over the place today so starting today with some oestrogen to see if we can balance the body better.

“She [the doctor] recommended maybe I take a bit of time for myself which I shall try to do!

“Thank you to all of you who spotted it who made me go and take my MOT of myself. I really appreciate it. I love you all. You’re such great great people. Thank you.”

She captioned the video: “Dear Fans and friends. Got two sets of results back and after feeling very anxious for several weeks I can now breathe.

“I want to thank each and every one of you for your caring kind and loving messages. You proved that social media can be a good place, watching out for each other is always a good thing, and I feel blessed.

“Hopefully in a few weeks I’ll start to feel less tired and my old self again. Gratitude to you all. Thank you from my heart to yours.”

Shirley recently revealed she’s trying not to “dwell” on her health concerns and test results.

She said in an Instagram post: “It will be what it will be.”

On Good Morning Britain on Wednesday she told how she’s trying to stay busy and revealed the last two weeks since discovering the suspected lump has been a “whirlwind.

Shirley told how she initially ignored fans comments about her alarm – before later getting help from her GP after more concerned messages came flooding in.
