Strictly Come Dancing’s Saffron Barker has revealed that she battled two injuries behind-the-scenes during last week’s rehearsals.

Talking to Rylan Clark-Neal alongside her partner AJ Pritchard on tonight’s It Takes Two, the social media influencer admitted to having whiplash and getting splinters in her derriere as she practiced her routine.

‘In rehearsal, I actually got whiplash at one point,’ Saffron confessed. ‘He spun me around so fast.’

‘I can’t deal with another injury please,’ Rylan panicked in reference to Neil Jones and Will Bayley’s absences on Saturday. ‘There’s too many at the minute.’

AJ commented: ‘Thankfully great technique held it together.’

But that wasn’t the only injury Saffron faced in training as she also admitted that the studio floor left her with more than she bargained for.

‘I actually got splinters in my bum,’ she said, before adding that her ailments prevented them from rehearsing for the rest of the day.

‘It never made the edit for the VT, but honestly, it was hilarious,’ AJ recalled.

Elsewhere on the programme, Catherine Tyldesley and her partner Johannes Radebe made an appearance after being eliminated from the competition on Sunday.

The couple both shed tears as they thanked each other for the experience and reached for tissues to wipe their eyes.

Johannes said: ‘She wanted more from me every day, she encouraged me and like I said in the final stages I became the student and she was like the teacher.

‘I’ll forever be grateful for this moment. I’m so glad our paths crossed, forever and always my friend.’

Viewers were also in bits over the scenes and raced to Twitter to comment, with one writing: ‘Oh dear. I’ve gone again @jojo_radebe is such a sweetheart and a delight as well as a fabulous dancer. Seeing him upset is so sad I’ll miss him.’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another posted: ‘Aw Cath and Jojo’ followed by a string of crying emojis.

It Takes Two continues tomorrow at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
