The country pauses at a particular time.

It is always held on the second Sunday in November every year and this year it falls on November 10.

Strictly has always marked the date with a special dance performed by the professionals.

And on Saturday night, Anton, 53, and his fellow pros will play characters in a group number inspired by World War II heroes and their families.

This year, the dance will take place at a train station and show loved ones saying goodbye to one another – but not knowing whether they will see each another again.

Since Anton became a dad for the first time in March 2017 when wife Hannah Summers welcomed twins George and Henrietta, his character was particularly hard to play.

Anton, who has starred on Strictly since the show began in 2004, was in tears as he spoke about his part at rehearsals, saying: “I’m playing a father.

“It’s a bit emotional because I can’t imagine leaving my children and not coming back.”

The day remembers those people who lost their lives in the two World Wars in the service of their country as well as those who have died in other conflicts.

Last year, Strictly told the story of the wives waiting at home as their husbands fought in the war through an emotional dance.
