Strictly Come Dancing will allow a same-sex couple to take part in the show the first time next year.
Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood has campaigned for a change in the rules so that male and females can dance together.
And it looks like the show could be set for a change in the rules, according to the Mirror.
A source told the publication: “Bosses have said while there aren’t any same sex pairings in this series, they’d definitely be open to it, given the right combination of celebs and dancers.
“The show’s always been inclusive and reflects modern Britain.”
They added that BBC bosses had their change of heart after realising that other nations had happily accepted the idea.
The insider continued: “Having previously thought it was unnecessary, it has dawned on people at the BBC that the original British show looks a bit backwards in not having embraced the notion of a same-sex couple.

“It could well be that we follow the Aussie model and go for a charismatic drag act, because Courtney Act proved hugely popular with traditionally conservative Australian viewers.
“And why not shake things up a bit over here? It’ll be fun. Exciting times are ahead.”
This Morning doctor Dr Ranj, who appeared in the show last year, admitted that he would’ve loved to have danced in a same-sex couple.

He said at the time: “I would love to dance with a same-sex partner.”
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the celebrity contestants will be finding out who their dancing partners are today.
Fans will have to wait until Strictly’s opening show next weekend to find out the matches made.
