Strictly Come Dancing star Alex Scott 'livid' at being split up from Kevin Clifton

Strictly Come Dancing star Alex Scott is said to be furious after the show’s bosses split up her and partner Kevin Clifton.

Alex, a former Englan women’s international, was apparently livid after Strictly producers paired her up with dancer Neil Jones.

Neil, 37, returned to the hit show after being forced to take a two-week break because of an injury.

Sister of Katya, 30, a professional dancer on the show, Neil had been helping organise performances while he recovered from a knee strain.

Reports suggest that Alex was absolutely furious that she was forced to ditch Kevin after the pair made waves on the show, impressing judges two weeks running.

Londoner Alex, who made 140 appearances for England, challenged bosses over the decision and asked to continue with pro Kevin.

But BBC top brass slapped down her demands as Kevin returned to screens last night. It comes after Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood admitted Kevin was better suited to Alex.

A source told The Sun that “Alex was fuming. She made it clear she wanted to continue with Kevin.”

The source added that Alex, who had three separate spells for Arsenal at club level, was “really forceful” and demanded that she “wanted to continue with Kevin. She was so angry”.

Alex’s outburst reportedly came during Friday’s rehearsals as her time on the show had “been pretty chaotic.”

Doubts who over who was going to partner Alex at the weekend had left he frustrated because she was “was unable to devote her energies entirely to either Kevin or Neil”, the source added.

It has also been alleged that Neil was “largely helping with choreography while Kevin did most of the leg work and 90 per cent of the training”.

Alex has scored her highest marks while dancing with Kevin, reaching 34 with him last week.

During Saturday’s live show, head judge Shirley Ballas said to Neil: “It’s good to see you back and in good health.”

Bruno Tonioli was not so diplomatic, saying to Alex: “It’s good to see you growing in confidence — she’s the leader now. Who you going to dance with next week?”
