Strictly Come Dancing pro Natalie Lowe welcomes first child with husband James Knibbs


Natalie Lowe, 39, has announced the birth of her first child with her husband James Knibbs in a Twitter post. The former Strictly Come Dancing professional told her 142,000 followers  the couple have welcomed a baby boy into the world named Jack James Knibbs.

She wrote: “Overjoyed to announce the arrival of Jack James Knibbs weighing in at 8lbs 8oz. 

“We’re all doing amazingly well and are so grateful for this gift of life. 

“Massive thank you to all the incredible team at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester @MFT_SMH @bbcstrictly @Fit_Steps.”

Fellow Strictly pro Karen Hauer took to the comments section of Natalie’s post to congratulate the couple on their news.

“Congratulations beautiful. So happy for you both,” the Ballroom and Latin dancer replied.

Karen was joined by fans who were quick to gush about Natalie’s announcement.

One person wrote in reference to the dancer’s recent It Takes Two appearance: “Congratulations to you all on the birth of your Son Jack. Must have been that demo time with @Rylan that brought him to you. Lots of love and virtual hugs.”

Another added: “Congratulations Natalie! I don’t know where you were keeping an 8lb baby tho, you looked fab on #ItTakesTwo #StrictlyComeDancing xxx.”

Natalie added: “Our precious baby is due (would you believe it) the weekend of the #Strictly final.

“We are over the moon excited and can’t wait to bring a little one of our own into this AMAZING world.”

“I now only have 1 season of #SCD to prepare for bubba’s arrival… yikes Warmest wishes, Love Nat, James, Cooper & bump.”

Natalie left her role as a Strictly pro back in 2016, but has continued to share her dance expertise on It Takes Two.

Before announcing her retirement, Natalie was partnered with celebrities including Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle, TV chef Ainsley Harriott, and EastEnders actor Scott Maslen after signing up to the series in 2009.

Natalie got married to husband James in her native Australia in January 2018.

Many of her co-stars from the BBC series were on the guestlist.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow at 7.20pm on BBC One.
