During last year’s Strictly Come Dancing, Danny John Jules who was partnered with professional dancer Amy Dowden became embroiled in “bullying” claims.
Both Danny and Amy insisted the reports were false on spin-off show It Takes Two but the former Death in Paradise star has now hit out at the BBC over how they handled the claims.
He has questioned why they didn’t defend him or say the reports were not true.
The 58-year-old said: “I’ve said it since day one that that rubbish came out and I say it today, my conscience is clean.
“Every single person in the show, associated with the show knows the truth and that I am telling the truth.”
Danny told Metro.co.uk he believes there are two ways the reports could have emerged.
He explained: “Either someone was backstage selling stories or it was manipulated by the press themselves.”
“Now, if the BBC heard something that wasn’t true, why didn’t they say, ‘That’s not true?’” Danny continued.
“If it’s not true, say it’s not true. If you don’t defend me, that’s your business.
“If you do defend me, that’s your business. The BBC never said it wasn’t true… they created the stories.”
A spokesperson for Strictly Come Dancing told Express.co.uk: “This claim is categorically untrue.”

Speaking on It Takes Two at the time the reports of “bullying” emerged, Amy told presenter Gethin Jones she never felt “bullied or threatened”.
“Things did get a little intense the other day in rehearsals,” she revealed.
“But you know what we got half an hour break and got straight to it. I’ve never felt bullied or threatened by Danny.
“I really want to get this man to Blackpool and then to the final.”
Danny added: “Well I can tell you is the only reason I am here, this far, is because of Amy and I’d never bite the hand that feeds me.
“I’m more than happy, it’s probably the best dancing we’ve done in a couple of days since I’ve been on the show and I’m just happy to go along.
“She’s the boss. She wears the pants.”
Danny and Amy made it to week eight in the BBC series before their time on the dance floor came to an end.
The pair were knocked out after they received the lowest score of the week with 27 points for their Samba.
They ended up in the dance off alongside Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse with the judges deciding to save the cricket star over Danny.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
