Strictly Come Dancing cast left stranded at Manchester airport as tour bus fails to show

Who says being a celebrity is all about limousines and private jets?

The stars of Strictly Come Dancing faced a public transport dilemma after they were left stranded at Manchester airport when their bus failed to show up on Thursday evening.

Kelvin Fletcher,36, and his co-stars were forced to wait in the cold for over 30 minutes after their transportation was delayed following their flight from Aberdeen where they performed as part of their tour the previous night.

The Strictly stars looked miles away from their usual glamorous, glittery selves

The BBC One hit show is currently on the road for the fab-u-lous live tour and the stars of the most recent series will be hitting Manchester Arena for not one but four explosive shows over the weekend.

Despite their unexpected wait, the talented dancers appeared to be in high spirits as they chatted among themselves and scrolled through social media on their phones with huge grins planted across their faces.

2019’s winner Kelvin Fletcher was joined by fellow stars from last year’s series, including former Coronation Street actress Cath Tyldesley, EastEnders star Emma Barton, Saffron Barker and BBC presenter Mike Bushell, who was keen to flash a smile to the camera alongside pro partner Katya Jones.

Looking a lot less glamorous and glittery than fans are used to, the much-loved amateur dancers donned casual looks as they were spotted wearing sportswear, baggy jeans and fluffy coats.

Also in attendance were the professional stars and tour host Stacey Dooley, who won series 16 of the celebrity dance show in 2018.

Before entertaining audiences in Manchester on Saturday (January 25) and Sunday (January 26), the celebs will head to Leeds for one show at the First Direct Arena.

After being crowned the winner of last year’s overall show, it’s evident that Kelvin’s success hasn’t stopped there as he continues to reign miles ahead of the rest of the stars during the live shows.

The former Emmerdale actor has won seven shows out of seven with professional dancer Janette Manrara as audiences get to vote for their favourites during each live show.

This is despite it being all change for the 36-year-old as his winning partner Oti Mabuse couldn’t make the tour this year, hence the change in partnership.

The latest travel dilemma comes after the former soap actor pulled out all the stops by treating his wife and two kids to a luxury holiday to Dubai before Christmas.

Kelvin flew his wife Liz Marsland and their two children – Marnie, three, and son Milo, one, to the five-star destination for a pre-Christmas break.

He promised to take his family on holiday after his gruelling schedule on the BBC show meant time together was tight with the star having to spend many days away from home.
