Mike and Katya received 22 points for their first routine with the television presenter putting his all into the action-packed dance.

After getting feedback from the judges, Mike revealed Katya was going to great lengths to ensure he had enough stamina for the Jive.

The 60-year-old and her partner Kevin Clifton performed a Challenge Anneka inspired Cha Cha Cha to Gloria by Laura Branigan.

She sported a purple and pink velvet jumpsuit and didn’t stop smiling throughout the whole performance.

However, judge Craig felt Anneka could have performed better than she did.

Critiquing her routine, he said: “Well that was flat footed, very stiff and lacked any hip action.

“You are better secretly than you’re making out.”

Anneka was shocked by his comment as she appeared open-mouthed and turned to her partner Kevin.

Later, she told host Claudia she had no idea what he talking about, telling her: “Craig thought I was holding something back…

“But what?” she laughed as she waited for her score. The pair only managed to score 14 points for their action-packed routine.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 6.40pm.
