Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Former star urges Emma Barton to 'rest' ahead of Blackpool

Emma Barton, 42, has been improving week-on-week with her Strictly Come Dancing professional partner Anton du Beke, 53, although it has been a battle for the pair to get perfect results from the judges. The BBC dance show stalwart has often stated the EastEnders actress has been “struggling” in rehearsals due to her conflicting schedules, leaving them with less time to nail the routines. With seven celebrities having now left the competition and the risk of being in the dance off becomes ever more pressurised, former star Charles Venn, 46, has offered some advice to the contestant on how to cope with being a part of both programmes to ensure she performs her best.

Last year, the former soap star danced alongside Karen Hauer, 37, whilst also filming scenes for hit medical drama Casualty.

The pair managed to make it to Blackpool after facing the dreaded dance off three times previously, but their luck ran out during the quarter-finals of the competition.

Over the course of his eleven weeks on the dance floor, Charles also struggled with trying to impress the judges with his performances.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the former EastEnders actor revealed what precaution he took to cope with conflicting schedules and the advice he would give to Emma.

Discussing how he felt to reach the pinnacle week in which the celebrities take to Blackpool, the Casualty star said: “We were just blessed to have got as far as we had.

“You’re talking about three dance offs; I didn’t think we were going to make it to Blackpool after three dance offs.

“Especially after the third one I thought that was it, I thought it was all over.”

With schedules continually crossing-over and reaching the Tower Ballroom, will Emma’s fate mirror Charles’ experience on the show? Will she just miss out on the final?

The actress has spoken out many times about filming the Christmas episodes of the BBC soap whilst also training in the studio.

Despite her best efforts, Emma may be in the danger zone this weekend as odds from William Hill bookmakers have pitted her as one to possibly face the boot.

Following the seventh elimination last Sunday, the soap star is at 3/1 to bid farewell after her performance on the Blackpool Tower Ballroom dance floor.

Could her partner Anton lose yet another series and miss out on the Glitterball Trophy?

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 continues tonight at 7.05pm on BBC One.
