Strictly 2019: Fans angered as Karim Zeroual faced dance-off instead of 'cringe' Emma

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left disappointed to see fan-favourite, Karim Zeroual, 26, and his pro partner Amy Dowden, 28, in the dance-off against Chris Ramsey, 33, and partner Karen Hauer, 37. Many believed that Emma Barton, 42, should have been in the bottom two instead, calling the rest of the public out or not voting for Karim.

Sunday night’s semi-final was full of tension as only four couples remained.

As Chris and Karen were pitted against Karim and Amy in the dance-off, it was time to bid farewell to the comedian and his partner, as their time on the BBC show came to an end after being voted out by the judges.

But fans were less annoyed about Chris’ departure from the show, and were more focused on Karim being subjected one again, to the dreaded dance-off.

Viewers were astonished to see that the CBBC presenter had less votes than his fellow celebrity, Emma, who sailed through to the final on high public votes with her pro partner Anton Du Beke.

Taking to Twitter, viewers shared their thoughts, wondering why Karim’s votes were so low, insisting he ’didn’t deserve’ to be in the dance-off on Saturday.

One angered fan posted: #Strictlyresults Hold up. You’re saying give Anton the win. I’m pretty sure it’s about the dance partner not him. Emma was literally being dragged along the floor, Anton had to move her around. She was pure cringe. If anyone’s going to be the winner next week Karim or Kelvin.”

Another jibbed: “Ok public, what are you doing? How the hell can you vote Emma above Karim on #StrictlyComeDancing2019 #Strictlyresults?”

“Who is even voting for Emma? Especially over Karim?! #Strictlyresults,” a third questioned.

A fourth quipped: “I will never understand how two people as talented as karim and amy have ended up in the dance off twice, the public really are sleeping on them but they’re in the final and that’s what counts.”

“WTF!! Why is Karim in the dance off again!? What is wrong with the British public,” someone else slammed.

Nevertheless, the fan-favourite did make it to the final, as Chris and Karen were sent packing.

Following the show’s slight format change on Saturday, each couple had two dances to perform for the live show.

Karim and Amy performed the Argentine Tango to Libertango by Bond, followed by the American Smooth to Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond for their second dance of the night.

The pair wowed fans, who said the only reason they accepted him being in the dance-off again was to see him perform either one of the dances one more time.

He tweeted after the competition results, his amazement at their achievement: FINALISTS!… We’re 2019 #Strictly Grand FINALISTS!! Thrilled beyond thrilled – and all down to my wonderful partner @EmmaBarton and every single one of your votes! Tremendous thanks, once again, my loves – you’re just the best! Anton #StrictlyFinal #JustSayin’!”

But with fans slamming their position from Sunday night’s show, will they receive the same amount of love that got them through to the final, next week?

Could they beat Karim and Amy once again as the show comes to an end?

Only five days to go until someone walks away with that Glitterball Trophy!

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7:05pm on BBC One.
