Stream Hatchet Reports 73% Increase in Year-Over-Year Weekly Streaming Viewership for Q3 2020

Stream Hatchet has released its latest quarterly video game streaming viewership report, indicating that while streaming consumption declined somewhat from its major second quarter spike, 2020 continues to see a surge in viewership year-over-year. The report states that streaming viewership across Twitch, YouTube, Facebook Gaming, and Mixer (before its closure) grew 73% for Q3 2020, surpassing 500M average weekly hours watched.

Twitch saw a decline from Q2 of roughly 375M hours watched, but remains the market leader, generating 4.7B to runner-up YouTube’s 1.7B.

In its report, Stream Hatchet also highlighted a number of female streamers, ranking 100 Thieves’ Rachel “Valkyrae” Hofstetter (who signed an exclusive deal with YouTube earlier this year) as the most watched.
