Stranger Things star David Harbour has been cast in thriller No Sudden Move as it goes back into production.

The 50s-set heist drama, directed by Steven Soderbergh, follows a group of criminals who are given the seemingly simple job of stealing a document, but when their plan goes wrong they go on the hunt for who hired them – and why.

Filming was delayed after the coronavirus pandemic stopped pre-production, but work will now resume in Detroit with strict social distancing measures in place.

George Clooney, Sebastian Stan and John Cena were originally set to star, say The Hollywood Reporter, but the delay has meant they are no longer available.

The star-studded cast includes Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro and Brendan Fraser.

Jon Hamm, Ray Liotta, Kieran Culkin, Amy Seimetz, Bill Duke, Frankie Shaw and Julia Fox also star.

In a statement, the director said: ‘The last time I shot a movie in Detroit with a great script and a great cast things worked out really well, so I’m very excited behind my mask right now.’

No Sudden Move is being made with HBO Max as part of Soderbergh’s deal with HBO.

He has previously directed Now You See Me and the upcoming sequel Bill & Ted Face The Music.

Harbour’s casting may be good news for singer Lily Allen, who he recently married, as it is rumoured she is considering quitting the UK and moving to the US permanently with her new husband.
