Stranger Things season 4: Summer release date ’scrapped’ after huge filming announcement

Stranger Things fans were sent into a frenzy after showrunners officially announced season four of the science fiction hit in an Upside Down themed teaser clip. Little was revealed about the new show, but now it seems it will be a big one, with the length of time needed to film making a summer release date impossible.

According to TV Line the crew will be filming season four for several months of the new year.

With filming starting in January and scheduled to end in August, it seems fans won’t be reunited with Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) and the gang next summer.

The report read: “We can confirm that season four is slated to begin shooting in January and will likely wrap in August,”

Moreover, the report confirmed there will be no Stranger Things in the summer of 2020.

Meanwhile, fans are beginning to suspect that Eleven will turn evil in the next outing after The Stranger Things writers’ Twitter account dropped a huge clue.

The latest antics of the account saw a fan asking: “@strangerwriters can you give us a hint about S4 using a song? I bet $5 that you can’t do that.”

To which the account replied: “And in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat, I tried to find the sound, but then it stopped, and I was in the darkness, so darkness I became.”

The lyrics come from Florence and the Machine’s 2010 song Cosmic Love.
