Stormzy is set to replace A$AP Rocky as the headliner for German festival Melt after the star’s arrest.

The Vossi Bop hitmaker, who stunned audiences at Glastonbury recently after his legendary set, will be taking over and performing alongside previously announced headliners Bon Iver, Jorja Smith and Skepta.

Melt Festival is set to kick off on 18 July in Ferropolis, Germany.

Stormzy fans are hyped about the news, with one tweeting: ‘Stormzy headlining over asap rocky at melt is so grand can’t wait to see him he is grime king.’

Meanwhile, another was gutted about the event being a little too far from home, adding: ‘Me when i heard that stormzy is attending the melt festival and i cant go.’

A$AP Rocky – real name Rakim Mayers – was taken into custody in Stockholm on 3 July on suspicion of assault following an altercation between his entourage and another man, which was filmed on camera.

Hours before his arrest, the 30-year-old rapper uploaded footage to his Instagram of an argument between the rapper’s security guard and a man on the street.

The Fashion Killa rapper is seen trying to play peacemaker as the man confronts the group about a pair of broken headphones.

According to Swedish outlet Aftonbladet, A$AP was involved in an altercation outside of a burger restaurant which allegedly resulted in a man being punched.

Later, it was claimed that he’s being held in ‘inhumane conditions’ in a Swedish jail.

According to TMZ, sources claimed that A$AP – real name Rakim Myers – is living in conditions which are ‘not fit for a human being’.

This includes feces being thrown around, sleeping on a yoga mat with no blankets and poor food.

It’s alleged that the water isn’t clean and that A$AP ate only an apple for the first five days in jail. The facility is described as ‘disease ridden’.

Insiders say A$AP and his team are now trying to get the US State Department involved to get him released.
