Stormzy tells Meghan Markle critics to ‘get the f*** out of here’ after backlash

Stormzy has defended Meghan Markle against criticism from the public and the media, saying there is no “credible” reason for the abuse she has received.

Markle and Prince Harry have been the subject of intense media scrutiny in the past week following the couple’s decision to “step back as ‘senior’ members of the royal family”.

During an appearance on New York radio station Hot 97, Stormzy said: “Meghan is a sweet woman, she does her thing. I haven’t heard her say anything crazy and they just hate her.”

Referencing Eammon Holmes’s recent controversial rant about Markle – in which the presenter said “I’ve never met her – but I look at her and I think ‘I don’t think I’d like you in real life’” – Stormzy argued: “Bro, she’s black, that’s who you’re talking about. ‘I just look at her and I think she’s got that arrogance.’ I’m like, nah, she’s black man. Just get the f*** out of here.”

Holmes came under fire last week for his scathing attack on Markle, calling her “awful”, “woke”, “weak”, “manipulative” and “spoilt”.

Stormzy added that criticism of Markle is “rubbish” and there is “nothing credible” about people’s negative views against her.

In the same interview, the rapper recalled the backlash to his comments about Britain being racist.

“I said Britain’s racist, not a risky thing to say,” he said, “but Brits are super in denial… If you hear them talk about her.”
