Stormzy has no idea what’s going on as Peppa Pig follows him and fans call for collaboration

We’re…sort of vibing this?

So Peppa Pig now follows Stormzy on Twitter and name dropped the grime artist in today’s weird and wonderful news.

And much like the rest of us, the rapper had no idea how to react to the news the children’s TV character was his latest celebrity fan.

Earlier today the Vossi Bop hitmaker was followed by the cartoon character (who also follows the Royal Family and Tom Fletcher, if you were wondering), which you’d expect to be a rather off-brand follow for the kids’ icon.

Hey, maybe Pep is trying to get a few new fans.

Things took a rather weird turn though when, after another account pointed out the new follow, Peppa’s account wrote: ‘Heavy is the head’, a reference to Stormzy’s album title, along with a crown emoji – which went with a gif of the character in a crown.

Stormzy was all of us, as he retweeted the message along with: ‘Wtf is going on lmao.’

Your guess is as good as ours, mate!

Fans loved the nod though, with one simply saying it was: ‘Talent appreciating talent.’

Yes sir.

Another added: ‘Get her on the remix.’

This prompted Peppa to suggest: ‘Bing Bong Christmas is happening,’ and, suddenly, we all wanted a collaboration.

C’mon on, team, make it happen!

It’s been a stellar year for 26-year-old Stormzy, not least because of his historic headlining set at Glastonbury.

The south Londoner, aka Big Mike, stormed onto the stage wearing a bulletproof jacket plastered with a large union jack on the back and front, going on to perform hit after hit back in June.

Also landing a TIME magazine cover (as you do), Stormzy – real name Michael Omari – described it as ‘one of my proudest moments’.

‘I’ve stared at this cover for a few minutes and it feels like one of those “how the f***kkkk did man get here?!” moments,’ he said. ‘God’s favour and the ever lasting love and support you guys show me has elevated me to a place in life where this South London kid is worthy enough to grace the cover of the most prestigious publication in the World.’

And that’s not even to mention his instant hit Take Me Back To London with Ed Sheeran, later revealing he turned down a collaboration with Jay-Z.

Perhaps the cherry on top of the 2019 cake is a collab with Peppa, eh?
