Stormzy had everyone talking about his Glastonbury set last night and has now thanked his friend sand family and gone into further detail about his performance.

The rapper took to Instagram to post a series of photos of him on the Pyramid Stage, accompanied with a lengthy statement in which he gives the lowdown on how his Glasto set came to life.

He also gave thanks to his ‘hero’ Jay-Z, who sent him words of encouragement, and Chris Martin, who accompanied him on stage.

‘I opened my set with words of encouragement from my hero and ultimate inspiration and the greatest rapper to ever grace planet Earth, Jay-Z,’ he said.

‘I got to sing with the most incredible and legendary man I know – Chris Martin – a man who’s genius I am so in awe of that it makes me go to the studio and try to emulate him.’

But Stormzy wasn’t finished there – he had to thank his production team, band, dancers, his BikeStormz crew – the whole lot, for it was all of these people that helped make the Big For Your Boots star’s show as spectacular as it was.

‘To Bronski, Amber, Misty, Trev, Kojo, Trim, James, Sam & my whole tour/creative/production team I appreciate you all and I’m forever grateful.

‘To my band and to my amazing choir who have worked tireless and given this their everything all whilst sounding flawless, effortless and amazing, I can’t do this without you.

‘To Mac, Trizzy, Bobby, C1, Flipz, my BikeStormz family, I’m so happy the world got to see you lots talent and skills – you just showed the world about bikelife – be very f*****g proud.’

But most importantly, he had to thank his family – or as he likes to call them – the #Merky team.

Because where would he be without them?

‘To the whole of my #MERKY team – my family who hold me down and have my back till the end. THANK YOU GUYS, THANK YOU GOD,’ he shared.

‘I am proud of myself and I feel blessed and fulfilled and purposeful. Your Glastonbury 2019 headliner, over and out.’

He also revealed that the stab vest he wore was made by Banksy, and the grime artist plenty of praise for the iconic street artist.

‘Last night I headlined Glastonbury in a stab-proof vest custom made by the greatest, most iconic living artist on planet earth, the one and only Banksy’, he said.
