RAHEEM STERLING has been crowned PFA Young Player of the Year.
Man City’s masterful forward, who was pipped to the top award by Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk, picked up the gong after another outstanding season.
Sterling, 24, was shortlisted for Player of the Year as well after scoring 17 goals and grabbing 10 assists in the Premier League this season.
The former Liverpool winger has been an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s side as City aim to retain their Prem crown.
Sterling said: “Very proud with the PFA Young Player of the Year, and truly thankful. Incredible support for the whole season, let’s go for more.”
He posted a photo to social media holding the trophy and joked: “Who said ‘too old for this s***?!'”
But Sterling’s influence off the field has been equally impressive.

England’s main man has developed into a leader for social issues after shining a light on racism within football.
This is the second award Sterling has picked up this week after being honoured for his “social activism” at the BT Sport Industry Awards on Thursday.
England boss Gareth Southgate presented him with the Integrity and Impact Award.
Sterling was among the the England stars racially abused during last month’s Euro 2020 qualifying victory over Montenegro.
He has also called for clubs to suffer points deductions when their fans are guilty of racist chanting.
