Steps reunion: When is Steps going on tour? When is their album What the Future Holds out?

Steps is a five-piece pop band who came to define the late 1990s. They had 14 top 10 hits during their four years as a band, between 1997 and 2001, before they decided to split. They came back together after a reunion TV series brought them back, but will their second reunion include a tour and a new album?

A series of recent tweets from the official Steps site left fans certain there would be an announcement of the band’s reunion.

Throughout September 7, images of letters spelling out the name of the band, each with a member of the band in front of it, were released, signalling a return to music for the group.

As well as these, some of the images included new hashtags and lyrics from a song, which also suggested the band was back in business.

Eventually, they made the announcement everyone had been waiting for: Steps will be heading out on tour in 2021 and releasing a new album.

Their new album, What the Future Holds, is out on November 27, but is available for pre-order this week.

As well as this, the band will be heading out on tour in 2021, with support from singer Sophie Ellis Bextor.

Their tweet said: “We are SO excited to announce our 2021 #FutureHolds tour!

“Pre-order our new album What The Future Holds from the Steps Superstore for exclusive pre-sale ticket access next Tues Sep 15th.

“Tickets & VIP experiences on general sale Friday Sep 18th at 10am”

Their tour will kick off on Sheffield on November 2, 2021, before they travel up through Nottingham, Birmingham, arriving in Newcastle on November 8.

After this they head down to Manchester before heading to Aberdeen on November 13, and to Belfast on November 15.

From here they are in Liverpool, Leeds and Glasgow before they go down south to Brighton November 25, and London’s The O2 on November 26.

Their final two shows are in Cardiff and Bournemouth, ending on December 1.

Their first tweet gave a great deal of information about their tour, but before this they announced their album, which will be hitting shelves or streaming services on November 27.

Their tweet reads: “WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS We couldn’t keep it a secret any longer!!

“Our new album What The Future Holds arrives on November 27th, and it’s available to pre-order from 8am tomorrow!”

This means the album will be available to pre-order now, so fans can get on to the official Steps website to order it.

This will mark four years since the band has been together, and in the meantime, they have each had solo endeavours, including Faye Tozer’s Strictly Come Dancing journey where she narrowly lost the Glitterball trophy to Stacey Dooley and her partner Kevin Clifton.

However, given it will be almost 25 years since the band got together, this year will mark some fun for Steps fans.

Tickets for the Steps UK tour go are available now for presale via the Steps Superstore, and go on general sale on September 18 at 10am
