Pregnant BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern, 37, took to Twitter yesterday to post a “blast from the past”.
The television star, who is expecting her first child with her girlfriend, shared a set of sweet throwback pictures on the social media site in view of her 379,000 followers.
Clearly feeling nostalgic, the mum-to-be shared four images from her childhood which her mum had found.
The old pictures saw the TV host with short curly hair in the early 1990s proudly holding her Irish dancing trophies.
Steph, who is currently on maternity leave, captioned the post: “Blast from the past….my mam has just brought round some old pics.”
She continued: “Look at these Irish Dancing ones!!
“From 1992 when I got my first ever trophy……up to the World Championships in Galway and Dublin. #myhair #myseriousface #mycostumes.”
In the pictures, the former champion Irish dancer, who still coaches dancers in international competitions, can been seen as a young performer in an array of Irish dancing costumes.
In 1992 Steph sported a red dress with colourful stitching, white poodle socks and traditional soft black lace-up shoes.
She swept her hair away from her face with a white headband and clutched her first trophy.
Four years later she was dancing at the World Championship in Dublin and the following year in Galway, Ireland.
Last year the TV star made an appearance at the 2018 competition and revealed that she still gets nervous at the event.
She wrote on Twitter at the time: “Buzzing being back at World Irish Dance Championships with my mates. The hair/tan/dresses might be a bit OTT to some these days but the craic is always mighty+dancing sensational. I still feel nervous when I see this stage….22 years on from first dancing on it…”
