Steph McGovern: BBC star jokes about 'being fired' as she stuns co-stars with swear word

Steph McGovern, 37, left her co-stars in shock on Monday morning during an episode of her Not Bad For A Monday podcast that she hosts with her childhood friend Claire and their producer Geoff. The hilarious anecdotes, the weird and the wonderful topics they bring to light, have listeners captivated from the get-go as they follow the candid conversation wherever it takes them.

The podcast, that made its debut early this month, has been a right hit with fans of the former BBC Breakfast presenter, who favour her quirky sense of humour.

But they got a little more than they bargained for yesterday as Steph came to realise that a swear word she admitted to using regularly, isn’t fit for broadcast.

While discussing their topic “communication at work”, Steph was appalled at the look she received off of her co-star.

“Claire looked at me like I just called her a t**t!” she exclaimed, as the trio tried to stick to one of their themes for the episode.

Genuinely sounding concerned, she soon changed her tune as she joked that she could have been fired from an old job if she swore while they were on-air.

“I don’t think it’s that bad. I’ve actually called someone from work that accidentally,” she confessed.

“Not on-air?!” Geoff sounded faint as Steph laughed: “No! No, I’d be fired!”

“I’m going to save this for next week’s theme on communication,” she laughed, leaving listeners with a huge cliffhanger.
