Steph McGovern: BBC Breakfast star told to 'f*** off' by co-host after unlikely delivery

Former BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern, 37, got a warning from pal and podcast co-host Claire in this week’s episode of Not Bad For A Monday, after talking about working from home. The presenter told Steph off for “really annoying” her.

It all started while the three hosts were discussing their opinions on snacking while working from home during the nationwide lockdown.

Steph asked Claire what she thought on the matter and she responded: “I think go for it.

“If there’s food in your house then crack on. Go for it, enjoy every little piece of that food,” she continued.

Claire then added: “You can exercise a little bit if you need to if you’re a little bit on the large side.”

While Claire was chatting away, Steph was digging into one of her scones her neighbour had just dropped round and made no secret of her enjoyment.

Soon after, Claire hit Steph with: “Oh Steph, f*** off, seriously,” after explaining that all she wanted was a scone filled with cream.

While Steph continued to go: “Mmmm,” Claire added: “Steph, honestly!

“That’s really annoying us,” which led Steph to laugh with her co-stars.

Their producer Geoff then added: “Right, well on that note, I’m off to the fridge.”

“Can I just say how last week I really enjoyed having a bit of music in the end with the Irish gig…

“I wondered if you might close this one Steph, Claire if you want to join in, could you crack open some donuts?” which left the three of them in hysterics.

The host, who presents The Steph Show, a programme that she fronts from her own home on Channel 4, previously revealed how she recently got into some trouble with her partner while they were both working from home.

She explained how she has been finding it really hard to not get distracted.

She added: “I’m just going to tell you what happened to me the other day I got in a bit of trouble because I’ve been using my partner’s headset and microphone to record a podcast I’m doing.

“I was trying to play some clips and I couldn’t understand why these clips weren’t playing on my phone.

“I was like, ‘Where’s the audio?’ then all of a sudden in the room next door I heard my partner apologising on her very serious conference call with her team,” the presenter continued.

The BBC Breakfast star then confessed to her viewers: “The clip I had been playing on my phone had been going out on through her speakers on her headset.”
