Starstruck Sam Heughan 'honoured' to meet Tyson Fury after Wilder win

He’s a giant on TV across the globe.

But Outlander’s Sam Heughan was dwarfed when he posed with man of the moment Tyson Fury recently, much to the amusement of his army of fans.

The starstruck Scots actor was delighted to bump into the Gypsy King following his sensational knockout win over Deontay Wilder at the weekend.

And, like any fan on a high after meeting their idol , he uploaded the proud moment to Twitter, saying: “What an honour meeting Tyson Fury the new heavy weight champ!!! (Size of his fists!)”.

Fans were quick to point out the stature of both, with one saying: “Wow it takes a pretty big guy to make you look small.”

A second added: “Whoa! And I thought you were tall!!”

Boxer Tyson shocked the sporting world with his sensational performance against his American rival at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and is now being hailed as an icon on both sides of the Atlantic.

He’s even been making some friends in very high places, after receiving invites to both the Vatican and the White House .

But we’re betting he’s the most chuffed to have met the Jamie Fraser actor than anyone else.

Heughan , who was born in Balmaclellan and brought up in New Galloway, is currently preparing for the fifth season of Outlander to hit screens.

And ahead of its US launch on March 2, he took along a bottle of his own brand whisky The Sassenach to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”.

Host Colbert poured the pair a ‘wee half’ each of before handing the Scot his on the rocks.

And, as we reported , the actor looked horrified when the host topped up his drink with a can of lemonade.
