A COFFEE lover has revealed how to get a Cadbury Creme Egg flavoured frappuccino at Starbucks by asking for ingredients from a secret menu.
The shopper, who shared the trick on deals forum HotUKDeals, said that the list of extra flavours tastes just like adding the Cadbury snack to your drink.
The person added that they found the recipe on a blog called Starbucks Secret Menu which allows fans to share recipes that they’ve discovered off the menu at the coffee chain.
The chocolate coffee fan wrote: “I have tried with very limited success to melt a Cadbury’s Creme Egg in my morning cuppa, but digging the lumps out left me with very sticky fingers, stains on my T-shirt & a deep sense of shame – well now I need never to feel that again.”
The bargain hunter swears by the recipe although we at The Sun haven’t tried the trick ourselves yet.
First up, you’ll need to order a Java chips frappuccino, which is an iced drink made with mocha drizzle, Java chips, whole milk and whipped cream.
How much of each extra ingredient you’ll need to add will depend on what size you’re after. This is what you need to order:
- Frappuccino roast (one pump tall, two grande or three venti)
- Vanilla syrup (one pump for a tall, one and a half pumps for a grande or two for a large pumps for a venti)
- Caramel syrup (half a pump for a tall and grande, one pump for a venti)
- Vanilla bean powder (two scoops for a tall, three scoops for a grande and four scoops for a venti).
Normally, a frappuccino alone will set you back around £3.20 for a tall, £3.45 for a venti and £3.70 for a venti.
But of course, Starbucks is likely to charge you more for the extra ingredients, although we’re not sure by how much.
You can save money at the coffee chain by using its rewards card that gives customers money off their order when they’ve collected enough points.
Customers can also save 30p by bringing in a reusable cup – the cafe chain adds 5p for orders in a paper cup, but deducts 25p if your bring your own.
Starbucks don’t actually have to make this for you as it’s not specifically on the menu but it’s worth a try anyway.
Some of the recipes on the secret menu blog are only available in the US so we can’t be sure that this trick works in the UK too.
