Star Wars: ‘Ewan McGregor signed up for Obi-Wan Kenobi RETURN’ – Movie or Disney Plus?

Cinelinx say two separate Star Wars sources confirm McGregor has signed a contract to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

But will it be in the rumoured solo movie or a TV series as part of the new Disney Plus streaming service?

Well, the outlet says they’ve heard the latter, which makes a lot of sense considering the box office flop that was Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Perhaps an Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series would be limited and one-off, like the planned Marvel ones also on the service.

The tease is found in a preview of Star Wars: The Secrets of the Jedi by Marc Sumerak.

The new book, released in November, chronicles the history of the Jedi Order and is written from Luke Skywalker’s perspective.

One section reads: “That knowledge was then passed down to a select few, including Obi-Wan, Yoda and my father.

“Their spirits guided me for many years but vanished when I shut myself off from the Force. It’s a relief to feel their presence again after all this time.”

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
