Star Wars cameo: Who has a cameo in Rise of Skywalker? Is Mark Hamill in it?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is soon landing in cinemas all over the world – just in time for Christmas. The movie will serve as the end of the Skywalker saga, meaning we are waving goodbye to Luke and Leia after decades. Fans are anticipating big surprises, but who is expected to cameo in the new movie?

Reports suggest there will be an absolute shedload of epic cameos in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

In previous movies, stars from the original movie reunited, such as Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, but their characters had far more to do than a cameo.

In the upcoming film, the sounds of familiar voices have been heard, and it is uncertain at the moment whether those people will feature in full or in cameo roles.

For example, it was revealed Billy Dee Williams will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian, Han Solo’s mate who had a part in helping the Rebel Alliance fight back and beat the Galactic Empire in Empires Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

His role is not expected to just be a cameo, and fans are hoping his role will be fairly hefty.

However, there are other stars who are reported to have small roles.

For example, Hayden Christensen, who played the young Anakin Skywalker in the prequel trilogy, is a possible candidate to return to the franchise.

According to Roger Friedman of Showbiz said: “The word is he will appear as a force ghost, just as Yoda returned in The Last Jedi.

“Christensen is said to have filmed his scenes last year. There were rumours of Anakin’s return in September and even last April.

“But I’m told it’s solid, Christensen is back, and that his appearance will give a jolt to his dormant career.”

This has, of course, left fans going wild, but it seems he is not the only person who may be making a comeback.

In his report, Friedman added: “There is also strong possibility we’ll see Harrison Ford as Han Solo one last time. Remember, I told you this.

“Knowing JJ, there’s quite possibly a final shot of Han, Luke, and Leia to make the audience burst into tears. So stand by.”

Fans will remember that Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver) killed his father, Han (Harrison Ford) at the end of The Force Awakens, which was a completely shocking moment which calls back to various deaths seen in early movies (anyone remember the death of Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace?)

As well as this, Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker is now at one with The Force after he helped Rey (Daisy Ridley) to push back the First Order in The Last Jedi.

However, if this report is true, it may be that director JJ Abrams is looking to reunite the group, meaning the ghost of Han Solo and Luke Skywalker may return to aid Leia Organa, meaning two mega cameos could be expected.

As the film is the end of the Skywalker saga, it is fitting to see these three together, and Hamill has already confirmed he will have a cameo role, which is likely to be a Force ghost of some type.

While fans will have to wait a little while longer before it is confirmed, they should anticipate some pretty big surprises in the upcoming film.

But will we see Luke, Leia and Han back together?
