Star Wars 9: NEW pictures confirm epic SNOKE scene in Rise of Skywalker

A series of new images has been released online. Following on from all the incredible reveals made during the Triple Force Friday merchandise preview last week, Star Wars fans will be thrilled to see fantastic new shots from the movie itself. One image shows Kylo Ren and his stormtroopers facing some kind of huge explosion or force. The second promises a spine-tingling return to Snoke’s throne room.

The new images are part of a major Rise of Skywalker preview feature in Empire magazine.

The first one shows Kylo and the soldiers in a huge landing bay, presumably on a ship. They are all braced against some kind of explosive force, with only the First Order Leader able to stay on his feet.

The second image (below) shows Kylo Ren and Rey facing off against each other yet again, the hilt of the Skywalker lightsaber hanging in the air between them.

The pair are expected to battle at least once in Episode 9, but this is actually a flashback. Look closely at the image.

The titanic Force battle between the two characters is impressive, and obviously takes place just after Kylo killed Snoke, who can be seen in two pieces in the background. The scattered corpses of Snoke’s Praetorian Guard clarify that this is happening after Kylo and Rey briefly teamed up together in that epic throne room battle.

What is going on? Will the scene also include new information about Snoke?

There has been much speculation that Snoke was actually a puppet of Palpatine – or even acting as a host body for the Emperor’s spirit.

JJ Abrams has categorically said he will not be changing anything from Rian Johnson’s movie, however, there is clearly plenty of room to put a new perspective on key scenes.

Just as the moment Luke attacked young Kylo in his sleep can be seen from different viewpoints, what will Abrams introduce into the throne room battle?

Could he use the moment to reveal Palpatine’s shadowy involvement? Or simply expand our understanding of the dynamic between Kylo and Rey?

The Empire description says: “Co-writer Chris Terrio opened up about the complex bond between the trilogy’s Force-sensitive duo: ‘Some of the most interesting scenes in The Last Jedi are the conversations between Rey and Ren’ he said, noting the different side of Ben Solo that Rey is able to tap into. “We’ve tried to pick up that complicated relationship that really has been present ever since the interrogation in Episode VII. When Ren takes off his mask, there’s a nakedness about him with Rey that he doesn’t express to anyone else. Rian developed that in fascinating ways and we’ve been able to develop it even further.'”
