Star Wars 9: Daisy Ridley reveals how CONTROVERSIAL ending is compared to Game of Thrones

In 2019 three massive franchise are concluding. So far we’ve had Avengers Endgame completing the MCU Infinity Saga and Game of Thrones’ ending. While this Christmas sees the Skywalker Saga conclude in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Avengers Endgame was warmly met by fans, but Game of Thrones’ final season was very controversial, being the worst-reviewed of the entire series.

And following the fan backlash to Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, should fans be concerned for how The Rise of Skywalker ties up the Skywalker Saga?

Well, Daisy Ridley was asked how controversial the film’s ending is compared to Game of Thrones.

Speaking with MTV News at Disney D23 Expo last weekend, the Rey star said: “I think this ending will be less controversial.

“It was really, genuinely satisfying. Doing it all, filming it all.”

JJ Abrams is directing The Rise of Skywalker, having helmed The Force Awakens.

Unlike The Last Jedi, Episode VII played it very safe, leaning heavily on nostalgia.

In fact, the only real criticism was that it was too similar to Episode IV: A New Hope, with the destruction of a new Death Star and the death of the protagonist’s new mentor.

Meanwhile, Ridley has teased that the Dark Rey seen in the new trailer really is real.
