Stanley Johnson went to extreme lengths to disguise himself during Sunday night’s episode of Celebrity Hunted, as he traded his trademark blonde hair for bright red locks.

After last week’s episode saw Stanley and his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! co-star Georgia Toffolo narrowly avoid being caught by the Hunters after leaving a trail behind them, the pair changed tactics, heading to Salcombe by boat where they spent the night at a local bed and breakfast.

But realising that having the exact same hairstyle as the British Prime Minister (AKA his son Boris) made him pretty easily recognisable, Stanley decided: ‘I think I’ve got to alter my appearance.’

Reasoning aloud to the B&B owner, he continued: ‘Obviously I can’t get much taller and I can’t get much thinner, but I think I can do something about the hair.’

Reuniting with Toff after the dye job had taken place, the Made In Chelsea star was a little taken aback by Stanley’s drastic makeover, with her 79-year-old partner saying: ‘You’re not supposed to recognise me!’

‘God, it suits you,’ replied Toff. ‘Why weren’t you born a redhead? This is genius, we’re never going to get caught.’

While we admire Toff’s optimism, we feel like the pair’s constant use of credit cards and phones might work to undo all the good that *checks notes* dying Stanley’s hair bright orange has done.

Attempting to explain himself, Stanley said: ‘If we’re not who we are, then are we looking like who we’re not? Do you see what I mean?’

Given the baffled look on Toff’s face, we’re going to guess that’s a no…

At least fans on Twitter saw the funny side, with many comparing Stanley’s new orange locks to Beaker from the Muppets.

‘Nothing says secrecy like your head’s on fire [sic],’ one wrote, while another added: ‘Probably not using your credit card would be a better option.’

Very fair point…

Celebrity Hunted airs Sundays at 9pm on Channel 4.
