Stacey Solomon has revealed an adorable new addition to her family after adopting a new dog.

The 32-year-old star – who was left ‘utterly heartbroken’ after her pet Theo died last month – has brought a new furry friend into the house and introduced her fans to the new pooch.

Alongside photos of Teddy and her other dog Peanut, she wrote on Instagram: ‘Welcome Home Teddy. Last night we rescued a dog. But today I’m not sure who has rescued who.

‘We miss you so much Theo. I hope you’re looking down from heaven smiling, knowing that peanut will no longer be so very lonely and that a doggy who really needed a family now has one. To the moon and back, always’.

Before sharing photos of Teddy getting settled, Stacey revealed she and Joe Swash couldn’t resist give the pup a home.

She explained: ‘We couldn’t leave without him. He’s so lovely… He was bread by somebody who was breeding dogs for sale and he wasn’t good enough for sale so they got rid of him…

‘When we learned about him and then saw Peanuts reaction to him there are was no doubt in our mind that he was coming home. (sic)’

The Loose Women star admitted they were ‘a little unprepared’ because they didn’t think they’d be bringing him back right away.

She continued: ‘I didn’t know we would be able to bring him home straight away so we were a little unprepared. We’ve spent last night and today settling him in and getting him all sorted’.

And it turns out Peanut was a big factor in them realising they were making the right decision.

‘As soon as we got to the wonderful lady looking after this fur baby’s house peanut was OBSESSED,’ she added. ‘His tail wagged more than I’ve seen it was since he was a pup. So we just couldn’t come home without him (sic)’

She also took the pair of pooches to Theo’s grave, and Stacey’s convinced her late pet would approve of their new arrival.

Stacey added: ‘This morning I took them both to see Theo and tell her all about it. I really believe she’d be so so happy to see peanut wagging his tail again and to know a doggy who needed it has a home with us.’
