Stacey Solomon has proven to be a beacon of light during these dark times of coronavirus lockdown, with her quirky social media posts and brilliant sense of humour.

The Loose Women star becomes more endearing everyday as she refuses to take her struggles in lockdown seriously, choosing instead to laugh through her pain as she navigates a busy household, relationship with Joe Swash and clapping back at trolls.

From nifty DIY tricks to TikTok challenges, Stacey really is the gift that keeps on giving…

Keeping the romance alive

Self-isolating with your significant other has its challenges and perks (hopefully) in equal measure but Stacey and Joe make it look so easy.

When she’s not lusting after the former EastEnders actor as he does his chores around the house, Stacey’s writing Shakespeare-level odes of her love to Joe.

‘When I met you I found me, I love being silly with you,’ she wrote with an adorable photo of Joe planting a kiss on her cheek.

‘My S Club loving, dishwasher shoving man. ‘My love, my life, my Hoe. To the moon and back @realjoeswashy.’

They know how to have fun with each other too, like filming music videos together.

Parenting during lockdown

With the kids permanently at home due to schools closing during the lockdown, it’s hard for any parent to get things done these days.

And when you have a household of four little ones, it’s basically impossible.

But Stacey found the perfect opportunity to steal a moment or two for herself – while playing hide and seek with her brood.

While they went seeking, Stacey went hiding in her garden for 10 minutes and it might have been the most fun she’s had in quarantine.

‘10 whole minutes, what a triumph,’ she said proudly. ‘I wish I’d brought out a Daim bar and a champagne flute of coke that would have made it perfect.’

Stacey then laughed: ‘I’ve been here for 10 minutes… it’s the best 10 minutes of my day!’

Note to parents: While they play, you get away!

Filming the perfect TikTok

Give Stacey a TikTok challenge and she’ll certainly rise to it.

A particular favourite was Stace pretty much shooting her own music video to Hear’Say’s classic Pure and Simple – with a little help from cameraman Joe, of course.

That so-called shower scene is everything.

Mastering DIY in quarantine

Stacey might have a career in housekeeping tips waiting for her when the coronavirus lockdown comes to an end.

Her latest bit of DIY genius is something special for the garden, and all you’ll need is an old watering can that’s seen better days.

Stacey managed to turn what was a bit of old junk into a magical outdoor accessory. Using some fairy lights and her own fair hands, the watering can became a very pretty garden light.

Genius.

Brushing off the trolls

For reasons we can’t understand, Stacey’s been targeted by some trolls during lockdown, including one who called her ‘so ugly’ in a lovely photo of her posing with youngest son Rex.

Well, Stacey killed them with kindness and replied: ‘Whenever I hear the word ugly it always reminds me of this song…’

Queue the next set of Instagram stories which showed Stace singing along to Sugababes’ single Ugly while carrying out mundane tasks such as peeling potatoes while making boyfriend Joe Swash’s roast dinner.

Alongside a video of her peeling off false eyelashes with a smile, Stacey wrote: ‘But the sugar babes got it right all those years ago… Ugly is a characteristic not a look. Never let anyone make you feel anything less than what you are. BEAUTIFUL [sic].’

And that is how you handle a troll.
